We are thrilled to share with you the outstanding results of our recent Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) report. This report serves as a testament to the dedication and excellence of our entire school community and is something which we can all be very proud of. I am particularly proud to highlight the numerous strengths identified by the inspectors, which underscore our commitment to providing an exceptional educational experience for all our pupils.
One of the standout strengths highlighted in the report is our stimulating environment, which fosters a love for learning and enables our pupils to thrive. This is coupled with the innovative approach taken by our leaders, who make decisions with the sole intent of providing the best education for every child in our care. The inspectors saw children who were empowered and responsible for their learning and they felt leaders and teachers were aspirational and successful in their quest to deliver a curriculum been recognised in the report for its highly beneficial impact, equipping pupils with both knowledge and life skills essential for their future success. The report also commends our extensive financial and community awareness, as well as our firm commitment to global citizenship and social-economic education.
What truly sets us apart is the rare accomplishment of being awarded a ‘significant strength’ by the inspection body, a recognition of our ability to enable pupils to create, ideate, and innovate in a rapidly changing world. This achievement is a testament to our forward-thinking approach and our dedication to preparing young people for the challenges of tomorrow. In over 400 inspections, our lead inspector could remember awarding just six of these ‘significant strengths’.
Moreover, the report highlights our strong culture of safeguarding and our unwavering focus on the well-being of our pupils, ensuring that they develop into confident, well-balanced individuals with a mature outlook on life. Our award-winning pastoral care sees us ranked top nationally by both the NAPCE and School House Magazine.
In summary, this report not only affirms that all standards have been met but also distinguishes Bassett School as an exceptional and stand-out school. It speaks to our aspirational curriculum, our motivational teaching approach, and the myriad opportunities we provide for our pupils to excel academically, emotionally, and socially.
we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our entire school community – staff, pupils, parents, and governors – for their continued support and dedication. Together, we have achieved something truly remarkable, and we look forward to building on this success as we continue our journey of excellence, and we know that Chris Woodward, Head Elect, is thrilled to be taking on such a special school in a fantastic position.
